Accessibility Statement

I want everyone to be able to use this website, including people with disability. Removing invisible barriers is the heart of my work, and that starts here.

How this site is built

I'm working towards the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. So far, this site:

  • has text descriptions (alt text) on the images across its main pages

  • uses button colours that meet contrast standards

  • works on phones, tablets and desktop computers

  • is written in plain language wherever I can

Why there's no accessibility widget

You might notice this site doesn't have an accessibility toolbar or widget. That's a deliberate choice. These overlays sit on top of a website rather than fixing it, and many disabled people and accessibility specialists find they get in the way of the assistive technology people already use. I'd rather build the site to work well with your own settings and tools.

Where I know there are gaps

  • Booking calendars and some forms are provided by third-party platforms, so I can't control every part of how they work.

  • The Workplace Disability Inclusion Assessment runs on a separate platform (ScoreApp).

  • Some older blog posts and downloadable guides (PDFs) may not fully meet the standard yet.

  • Captions on my video are being reviewed.

I'm working through these and will update this page as they're fixed.

Found a barrier, or need something in a different format?

Please tell me. If anything on this site is hard to use, or you'd like information in another format, email [email protected]. I'm also happy to talk it through over Zoom or MS Teams. I aim to reply within 48 hours.
